The reason for giving V60 this name is because it is made in the shape of the (V) letter with a filtration angle of 60 degrees.  The tool V60 has spread widely in recent years due to its showing the strength of the flavors and texture of coffee, and is considered one of the best tools used to prepare filtered coffee as it uses paper filters to filter coffee, and inside the tool there are bumps that allow the filtered coffee drops to pass ,It also allows the expulsion of air and unwanted gases such as carbon dioxide acquired during coffee roasting, which results in an unpalatable taste in coffee. The V60 is designed in three sizes

V60 funnel sizes:

  • The first (01) / can be used to prepare one cup to two cups of coffee.
  • The second (02) / can be used to prepare one to four cups of coffee.
  • The third (03) / can be used to prepare one to six cups of coffee.
  • The second size (02) is considered the most common among users.

One of the most important factors influencing a successful and  perfect extraction in the V60 tool is the degree of grinding the coffee which is mostly average in addition to the equation used in the preparation of coffee, the ratio equation (Ratio) must be used in order to professionally prepare the coffee.  In the following we will mention some  recipes for preparing coffee using the tool V60:

Recipe 1 for preparing V60 coffee

  • 22g coffee
  • Medium grinding
  • Time 3 minutes
  • Water temperature 93
  • Ratio 1:15

Preparation

Weigh 22 grams of coffee and grind it to a medium degree, put the filter for “V60” and add some hot water in the tool “V60” to wash the filter, and in order to heat the tool slightly before use and then pour it.

After that, place the ground coffee on top of the filter and then the first pour by moistening through pouring water 44 ml for 30 seconds equally, the second pour up to 190 ml of water, then the third pour up to 275 ml of pouring, and then the fourth to 330 ml until the extraction of coffee is finished.

Method of pouring water in recipe 1

First pouring: moisturize from the inside to the ends by 44 ml and wait for 30 seconds

Second pouring: with low flow from the inside to the ends up to 190 ml

Third pouring: with low flow upright at the rings of the sides up to 275 ml

Fourth pouring: with low flow rotating around the middle up to 330 ml

  • Medium grinding
  • Time: 3 minutes
  • Water temperature 93
  • Ratio 1:15

Preparation

Weigh 18 grams of coffee and grind it to a medium degree, put the filter of “V60” and add some hot water on the tool “V60” to both wash the filter and heat the tool slightly before use and then pour it, put the ground coffee on top of the filter, and then the first pour by moistening through pouring water 36 ml for 30 seconds evenly.  The second pour up to 150 ml of water, then the third pour up to 270 ml until the extraction process of the coffee is finished.

Method of pouring water into recipe 2

First pouring: moisturize from the inside to the ends by 36 ml, wait for 30 seconds

Second pouring: with low flow from the inside to the ends up to 150 ml

Third pouring: with low flow rotating around the middle up to 270ml
